LOCATION

Hjalteyri is approximately 20 mintues from Akureyri and another 20 minutes from Dalvík.

CAMPING

Technically.. there isn't an official campsite in Hjalteyri.
But! You ARE allowed to place your tent anywhere you can find a spot. We will put up some signs to guide you. Note that there isn't any electricity for camping, but there are toilets, sinks and a shower.

Please respect private property.

If there are no available spaces, we recommend Hauganes or Akureyri camping.

Get bus tickets (Akureyri - Hjalteyri, Hjalteyri - Akureyri) here.

FOOD

Eyri restaurant is right there, a world class place run by our very own Nik.
There will be food trucks as well and Icelandic Meat Soup.
